Internet and construction

In the past, we have dial-up internet, which I understand it is coming from a telephone line, from my stand point not an expert. Now the technology is advancing, there are satellite internet and wireless internet connection, but the built up network is still the same. By watching video from Andrew Blum from TED TALK, I still see a traditional process of connection, wire connection. The connection wire goes under ocean from land to land.

First I would like to admit that I never heard about TED before until I have taken a class here at Full Sail. There are quite a few interesting videos that I watched from TED.com such as: a flying robot bird, video about black whole, and etc. Video sources that I usually watch from are YouTube.com and 4shared.com. These two sites are very simple to navigate and can be shared with others.

When I looked around in the TED.com, there are many categories that interest me, but I chose technology since it is my interest and I have enough knowledge to understand the article.

The blog post that I chose to discuss in this page is about the internet. “What is the Internet, Really?” from Andrew Blum is my first interested video clip that I believe very inspiring. Not only is this clip related to an entertainment industry, but also to the technology industry as well. I, personally, never knew that there is an actual cable that connects the entire internet around the world. The internet connection really needs a physical construction for network connection to be working properly. I am working very closely with the network connection, but never thought about where and how the internet is connected. It is very interesting to see how overseas network built.

This internet connection is a source of the network that brings television program, news, sports, and etc from overseas around the world. Internet has become more advanced. Broadcasting can start at home and broadcast via internet around the world in a single click. We can also broadcast ourselves remotely by using mobile phone, tablet, and laptop.

I personally had an experience about broadcasting news from the United States back to Thailand using 4g internet connection on my iPhone live. It work perfect and really cost effective.
